Hazel Hill McCarthy III is a Los Angeles native. Her work focuses on a familiarity with the city's timeless absurdities and it's inhabitants' relentless dedication to fame and fortune. Her preference to use overtly obvious subjects and delivery systems allows her to introduce new work seemingly with ease to the audience and provides a sense of familiarity. But the use of such banal and expected devices enables Hazel to distort the viewer's perception of the subject, manipulating the familiar into something more twisted. > Link
